ABOUT HEALTH FUNDAMENTALS

At Health Fundamentals we believe that getting healthy and staying healthy doesn't have to be complicated.  In fact, it's actually kind of easy once you understand 5 key principles we call "The 5 Fundamentals of Health".  They are:

#1.  Health Comes From the Inside

Our bodies are AMAZING! They were designed to be in a state of health and to be self-healing and self-regulating. Refuse to believe the lies that "you're just getting old" or that you have to rely on an outside-in approach to maintain health. Your body knows exactly what to do to heal itself. Sometimes we just need to provide it with a little help.  

#2.  Simplicity and Consistency

Leonardo Divinci once said that "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication". We believe that is true. Rather than relying on extremes, fads and short-cuts, rely on the power of consistent disciplined focus. We dramatically over-estimate what we can do in a month but we dramatically underestimate what we can do in a year.

#3.  Proper Mechanical & Chemical Function

Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine once said "Look well to the spine for the cause of disease". The master control system of our body is the nervous system, this is where EVERYTHING begins. Our brain communicates with our body through our spine. Misalignments or "subluxations" in the spine can create disruptions in this communication. Chiropractic care helps to correct these.

#4.  Being Mentally, Emotionally and Spiritually In-Tune

The vast majority of health problems today stem from one common problem: mental mismanagement. Whether we're struggling with obesity, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, stress or other health problems. Learning to better cope with and manage the daily stress we encounter will have a massive impact for good on our overall health.

#5.  Fueling Ourselves Properly

Food is fuel. We have to shift our paradigm from one of merely feeding to fueling for success. How do you want to perform in life? The most successful people fuel for optimal performance rather than simply feeding for pleasure. How will you choose to fuel yourself?

MEET THE HEALTH FUNDAMENTALS TEAM

Dr. Chad Woolner

Dr. Chad Woolner has been studying functional medicine strategies ever since his wife was diagnosed with a major health issue and struggled with severe health difficulties. In helping his wife, Dr. Woolner developed a unique approach to helping not only his wife, but thousands of patients across the US, find health through simple but powerful strategies.  Dr. Woolner runs an integrated practice in Meridian, ID. He has done post graduate studies in functional medicine and  advanced clinical nutrition.  

Dr. Charles Penick

Dr. Charles W. Penick, MD is an integrative board-certified Family Medicine physician who is passionate about setting the trajectory for a strong and healthy life, while promoting true vitality for each member of the family.  In addition to the knowledge and experience derived from obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Charles is well versed in nutritional health, detoxification, medical fitness, and health optimization, utilizing some of the latest scientific technologies and breakthroughs.  Dr. Penick attended college at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. He obtained his medical degree at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA, and completed his residency training with the University of California, Riverside in Palm Springs, CA.

Dr. Andrew Wells

Dr. Andrew Wells grew up watching his entire family struggle with chronic health issues. Growing up, he thought it was normal to always have health issues, to have multiple doctors and specialists and to constantly be on some type of medication. It wasn’t until he started living on his own and exploring the World that he realized being sick and unhealthy isn’t normal. He started to learn that health was much more than just avoiding sickness.  Dr. Wells has operated and launched dozens of integrated clinics around the country. He has helped thousands of patients reverse chronic disease by getting to root causes instead of simply trying to mask symptoms. Dr. Wells has a passion for teaching other doctors how to help get their patients healthy without drugs and surgery. 

Dr. Jason Green

Navigating healthcare options can be a challenging and frustrating journey for anyone suffering with chronic health issues. Dr. Jason Green has been helping his patients bridge the gap between conventional medicine and holistic healthcare since 2011. Dr. Green runs one of the largest teams of integrated doctors in the country and his approach has always been using effective and non-invasive therapies, rather than prescribing medications to mask symptoms. Dr. Green advocates for finding and addressing root causes and is passionate about helping patients live a happy, healthy, pain-free life. When not working, Dr. Green stays busy keeping his four young kids busy. 

Dr. Buddy Allen

Dr. Buddy Allen is our Chief Clinical Officer. He graduated from the University of Western States in 2003 with his Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine and has a post-graduate degree in Advanced Clinical Nutrition. He has been treating patients for more than 15 years, and during that time he has helped thousands of people get out of pain and solve chronic health problems naturally.
Dr. Allen is also a certified health coach who trains healthcare professionals throughout the country and how to help people lose weight effectively and sustainably. In 2009, he started working as a consultant for one of the leading health coaching companies in America – helping both individuals and groups achieve their goals through healthy living strategies.
